The Moment Anamorphic Lens is the holy grail of filmmaking. It makes your videos pop with yummy flares, that wide screen look, and true black bars on top and bottom. It makes video on your phone not look like cell phone footage...it looks like a movie. Designed with our premium glass, you get...

Awesome little lens. I gave it 3 stars for a lack of included directions how to mount it successfully. This is a critical flaw and easily correctable. That’s why I hope the good folks at Moment read this. When I first popped the lens on my iPhone XS, the lens cropped my wide angle camera. I searched and searched through the directions to see if I was mounting it wrong. I could find nothing, I following the included direction to a T. I was highly disappointed, pissed off and I reluctantly stated the return process. After about 2 more hours of painstaking research, I found a Moment video about an Allen wrench mounted to the micro fiber bag to adjust the angle of the lens before it’s mounted. There was ZERO mention of this in the directions. Why? That’s a big deal. This is NOT common knowledge. Hypothetical Moment people reading this, make this small change and you’ll make your customers lives a lot easier. My $.02.
I am returning this product because, while the lens seems fine, the Moment app on Android is quite terrible. I am using a Pixel 3 (current generation phone with an awesome camera), and the app constantly crashes or freezes. And the load times are ridiculous. With auto-desqueezing on, if you shot a minute of video, it will take at least a minute for it to desqueeze the video. While it does this, it causes the camera app itself to stall or freeze. It also causes my phone to heat up quite a bit, and the battery drain is insane. Even with desqueezing off, the app still crashes. When I try to look at a video or photo I just took (again, with desqueezing off), it will often constantly load a black screen - one that I can't even back out of. I have to force-close the app. You'll notice in the Moment app's reviews on the Android Play store, Moment's common response to criticism is, "We're always providing FREE updates to this app!" Yeah, well it's not really "free". I bought your $150 lens, and I expect support for it. There's a great incentive for you to support it further. And no, I don't want to drop $15 to purchase Filmic Pro instead, to get my desqueezing. I'd rather return this lens. Moment, let me know if you ever fixed up your Android app. I might be interested in purchasing this lens again. As a side note, the lens itself, after desqueezed, doesn't really make 'amazing' photos or videos. They do have a subtly different quality, but on the 'meh' side. Especially given how much this costs. Again, I am using a Pixel 3, which has a great camera able to shoot in 4K @30FPS. And I found all my desequeezed videos underwhelming.

The clip is not wide enough to fit my iPhone XS with case (Otterbox Symmetry). Removing my case anytime I may want to shoot video is not practicable, and I would still want my phone to be protected while shooting video as that's when it's most at risk from being dropped.Ulanzi also sell a video cage for the iPhone which has a 17mm thread to attached the anamorphic lens without the clip, and while it might be OK to use for well planned tripod use, it's too big, slippery, w/ sharp edges to double as a case. The inner case it ships with, doesn't provide enough protection for me to use as my primary case either. The Anamorphic lens whether attached via clip or 17mm has another design limitation. The lens rotates freely and doesn't click or lock into place horizontally. This is an issue, as any slight rotation of the lens renders a distorted video image. Aligning the lens by eye is difficult, and keeping it aligned during use can be an additional challenge. While I liked the price point, these usage limitations pushed me to try the more expensive solution by Moment. So glad I return the Ulanzi lens now. The Moment iPhone case is brilliant, I’d recommend it even if you’re not adding any lenses. The Moment lens attaches bayonet style and locks into place in a constant position so you always know you’re not wasting time recording distortion from an off angle which was what happened with the Ulanzi lens.
This little lens just added some production value to my shots! The lens flares are awesome, the clarity is great and the adaptability to every phone I have is huge.It took me a minute or two to figure out how to Desqueeze the video, but once I did... amazing shots without having to add “fake” anamorphic bars on my work. The case it came with was an extra added benefit and the clips as well as the lens itself is built very well! Love it! Annnnnd it was a whole lot more affordable than the other options!
So far So good. I have all of ULANZI's smartphone lenses and i just seen they had their own anamorphic lens version so i jumped on it. I have many ULANZI products. Definitely a must buy brand. The Anamorphic Lens is very nice! Very good quality as usual. I LOVE the design chosen for its functionality. I LOVE the 17mm threaded interface they chose to use as well. It allows for many mounting applications. I'm going to have fun with this lens for sure.

This is a solid lens for the money. The build is great, glass seems good but not very clear. Here’s a few things I don’t like about it. I’m noticing some odd skin tones during some light conditions. Attaching the mount to the phone is kinda awkward, since it pulls the notification tabs down for iPhone. The lens is too easily moveable without a lock mechanism, which causes weird elongated photos. Make sure to align the lens before photo or video. All in all it’s a very good lens with minor draw backs but given the price I will buy in an instant.
An anamorphic lens squeezes a wider image into a narrower sensor or film.To view the image or video properly, you will need software to stretch the image back out. There are apps which can do this on your phone, both for video and stills. You can also use most video editing tools or Photoshop to accomplish it on your computer. This lens works as well as the much more expensive competitors and costs a lot less. Examples and comparisons are easy enough to find on YouTube, which is how I evaluated the image quality before buying. The one trick is to make sure it is on straight and stays on straight. You can get a purpose-built frame to hold it in place if you get serious about it, but the clip works just fine.My purpose was for making still images. I have been pleased with the results.
It was good but the sides of video were out of focus and showed rolling shutter shifting with night view.

I purchased this item on my own with no compensation for this review. Please click on Helpful at the bottom of this review if what I wrote is useful to you.I have been a fan of the Moment lenses since they came out with their 2.0 system a couple of years ago. I have their 60mm and was looking to add a second lens so I could keep one in the house for sunrises, and one in the car for opportunistic shoots. When I learned that this Sirui lens would fit on the Moment case with an identical bayonet attachment system, I decided to try it out.As such, this review is comparing the Sirui to the Moment lens using the Moment mobile case.First, I need to address the fact that I am comparing the Moment 60mm with the Sirui. Moment now makes a 58mm lens that has replaced the 60mm lens and claims it is better. In my A/B tests between the Moment 60mm and the Moment 58mm conducted at B&H Photo, I did not notice any difference at all. So I feel okay comparing the previous generation Moment 60mm lens with this Sirui 60mm entry.Interestingly, the Sirui 60mm lens has a shorter focal length than the Moment 60mm lens. I don't lose sleep over it, because they both essentially double your focal length of your phone, whether you put it on the primary lens or the 2X lens of your camera. But if the Moment lens is truly 60mm, I'd argue that the Sirui is about 55mm - 57mm.As you can see from the photos, the packaging is very upscale. A nice box holds the lens, and unlike with the Moment lens, there is a rear lens cap. But there is one challenge with the design. As seen in the photo, the lens has a protruding spring-loaded button which is designed to hold it to the adaptor provided for most buyers who do not already have the Moment case. For me, I was concerned it would scrape my case over time. So I simply carefully drilled the post down just enough that as it bounces back up, it does not protrude above the surface. This is a big deal if you don't want to mess with your lens and just use it out of the box, but I thought it was worth it, for this reason:In my tests, the Sirui actually beat the Moment lens in terms of color and contrast. The two examples provided are 100% crops so you could see the two lenses exactly as they were shot. And, they were both shot using the Moment app using consistent focus and settings. It's important to note that there is ALWAYS what is known as specimen variability. I may have gotten a good Moment lens, but an extraordinary Sirui lens. It's feasible that you may end up with a softer specimen from Sirui and/or a sharper specimen from Moment. But for these tests, the Sirui wins by a nose, even when accounting for the surgery I needed to do on the lens pin.
After months of research, I was "this" close to buying a Sony AX53. Then I thought, "I've spent nearly $1,000 for my phone, which is supposed to have one of the best cameras on the market." So I did more research on tele lens attachments. The research took a lot of time because, if you look at the customer photos of tele lenses on Amazon, you see there's a lot of degradation in clarity. It's like you're looking through cheap binoculars. The ONLY customer photos that looked perfectly clear seemed to be these from Siriu. With a lot of doubt, I went ahead and made the purchase, expecting to return it.I just recorded my kid's soccer game today on 1080 (not even 4K), and the video looks like a movie! Intentionally, I didn't use the digital zoom, but for subjects as far as 60 yards away, the lens worked beautifully.Looks like I'll be able to wait on a camcorder purchase until the prices come down a little more! Also, for travel, I may not need a camcorder at all!
I own all other Sirui mobile lenses. While they are prone to flare, the images are pretty sharp. I had seen some small sample images from this "400mm" lens on the web before I ordered this lens. I expected it to be less sharp, but the results are much worse. The images are extremely soft with ghosting even though they were taken on a tripod with 10-second timer. The quality made me think of first generation super zoom lenses from 30 years ago. Without a tripod it's very shaky and close to unusable. That's when you really appreciate image stabilization in modern cameras. The coverage is not close to 400mm, either. I shot the same scene with a Sony RX10 IV. The Sirui on a Google Pixel 3XL is probably more than 250mm on the Sony but definitely less than 300mm.

I used it on my note 10 plus. I can only use this lens on the normal and close up lens, the ultra wide has too much vignetting. The lens itself is decent but a bit blurry, and hard too center on the correctly, so it gives results that can't really be used to do anything that posting on social media.I'm going to get the moment case and lens and then I'll compare both.
The lens is very easy to use, especially the night scene. The super aperture is cool and cool. I'm very satisfied with such a good product. I'm still very happy.
yeah,it is great ,it was shot very clearly.and easy to use ,i like it!
