Let me start by saying i was iffy on purchasing this item , i read through allllll the reviews and so far here’s what i think , I received the bedframe today ( two days earlier than expected!) and the package had a few dings ( to be expected cause i live in Hawaii so it’s pretty far to ship from mainland ) anyways the package wasn’t as heavy or big as i thought. But pushed my mattress and box spring up and began to work . Took me about 45 min to put together since i was going this alone ( plus i had the kids distracting me ) so one thing i wanna clearify is the color i got was “stone” and it’s a queen the color isn’t a tab nor a light grey bust somewhere in between . That’s one thing i was worried about since i was purchasing online ( but i really like the color . The material is good no rips everything was super simple to put together . Definitely love it with the box spring even though it doesn’t need one i feel if i didn’t have it the head board would be a little too high . All parts were there you really only need a skewdriver . It’s only been a day but so far seems sturdy , no noise , i love it great price , great bed ! If i ever needed one I’d buy one again
I was looking for a cheap frame that requires a box frame. I purchased the queen size and it was delivered 3 days earlier than the estimated delivery date which was great! Assembly was pretty simple. Having a second person to help is highly recommended. The instructions were comparable to IKEA instructions (included in the pictures). The pieces were labeled clearly for easy assembly. My mattress is 12in and a 9in box frame and both combined was thick enough so that the gap was covered between the head board and mattress. The sides of the frame are also tall enough to keep the box frame from sliding off of the bed frame. Have slept on it for a few nights and tried to shake the bed for squeaking and there was no squeaking! I am extremely happy with the quality of this product especially for $130! Will definitely buy again when necessary.
Started to love the bed frame and though it was very nice, then it completely started to fall apart the slacks broke and the side where the wood was holding up the bed completely came off and I was very disappointed.

I almost didn't buy this after reading the negative reviews, but I read through quite a bit of them, and after hearing the tips about how others have reinforced it, I headed to Home Depot, picked up some supplies, and went ahead and ordered. As is, no, this bed won't hold up. What I did, though, was pick up some Titebond III, a whole bunch of metal L brackets, some felt, and reinforced the living daylights out of it. I put the wood glue in EVERY hole during assembly, as well as painted it onto each screw. Once it was all put together, I added 16 L brackets to the frame; 2 at the top and bottom of each corner, and one on each side of the two middle supports, where the drawers go. I just held them in place, marked the holes, and pre-drilled pilot holes.People were also complaining about the slats not staying in place, and being too noisy, so I bought an entire bolt of thicker felt and glued it to the inside of the metal brackets where the slats sit, and also cut a large piece to cover the slats with (to quiet them, and also to keep the loose splinters from tearing up the underside of my mattress), and I tacked those down with flat head thumb tacks. Our bed frame is sturdy, we're able to reposition the bed without the drawers falling out or the bed frame becoming 'unsquared', and the only noise the bed makes is during, uhhhh.... bedtime fun, if the frame knocks against the matching headboard. The only complaint people had that I've not yet been able to solve is the gap between the frame and the matching headboard, although I'm thinking of adding a sort of mesh 'hammock' because a.) you won't be able to see it with the pillows on the bed, and b.) if you drop anything down there, it's a NIGHTMARE to get it back. With all that said, this is not a bed frame for people who plan on moving a lot (the reinforcements kinda negate disassembly), people who rearrange their room often, or for people who don't want to take the extra steps/spend the extra money to make it work. All the pieces arrived in perfect condition, and with all the necessary hardware. I'm a 5' 5", 115 pound female, so I had to open the boxes outside and carry the pieces in, but I assembled this entire frame, the matching headboard, and 2 matching end tables completely by myself over the span of 3 days. The directions weren't too bad to work with, you'll just need to GO SLOW, READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY, and sort/label all the parts and hardware before you get started. It looks great, and it's the EXACT bed frame/headboard I wanted, so the extra work/cost was worth it to me.
The IKEA-style assembly of this bed does, as other reviews indicate, leave something to be desired in terms of sturdiness and creakiness. However, with a couple extra hours and about $25 worth of apparatus from the hardware store, it's easy to build this thing solid as a rock. If you've got the time and the inclination, you'll end up with a surprisingly high quality piece of furniture. (And it doesn't look cheap either.) Total assembly time, with the modifications, was about five hours for a moderately capable guy with a drill and a six-pack of High Life. You'll also need a companion to help hold things together as you're slotting together the bigger bits.If this sounds intimidating, it's actually pretty easy. Just buy the hardware and things will be pretty intuitive once you're done slogging through the directions and you return to this. You will need the following from the hardware store. Just ask someone there if you're unfamiliar, and they'll point you right to it:8 2.5inch/63mm "corner braces"A box of wood screws that are sized 6x5/8. The corner braces may come with screws, but these will be 3/4in or longer, and will poke through the wood. You're going to use the 6x5/8 screws with the corner braces.A box of wood screws that are 1.5 inches long. Just get the narrowest ones they have, whatever gauge that may be. If they don't have something 1.5 inches, anything in that neighborhood will do.15 feet of 1/2in wide heavy duty felt tape. (Get six rolls of the stuff and you won't run out.)STEP 1: Before you install the slats on which the bed will rest and connect the whole thing together, stick a strip of felt across the top of the two inside support beams. This will help keep the beams from rattling around under your mattress.STEP 2: Once you have assembled the frame, take the longer wood screws and drill them down through each slat into the support beams, right through the felt. Make it nice and tight.STEP 4: Cut the felt tape into 3 inch strips and, without removing the wax paper backing, slip them into the slots where the ends of the slats are fitted, using a flathead screwdriver to stuff them in if you have problems. This will tighten the ends so that they don't rattle around in the metal bracket.STEP 5: Drill the corner braces using the 6x5/8 screws into each of the four corners. It will be obvious where to put them: you're just trying to firm up the connection between the side beams and the ends, so that they don't flex around. I found it helpful to put the top four horizontally (directly above the slats) and bottom four vertically (like an L, inside the opening where the drawer will go). Don't worry that you will impinge on the drawers -- there's room.(It's also helpful to run some felt tape along the bottom of the bed, especially if you have wood floors, so that you can move it around without scratching.)Congrats, you now have an extremely solid (and subtly classy looking) bed. And you spent $350, not $800.Prepac Espresso Tall Twin/Mates Platform Storage Bed (6-drawers)Prepac Monterey Cherry Queen Platform Storage Bed (6-drawers)
I wrote up a huge/long multi page review of this product, why it fails, and how to fix it... before I found out the limits that Amazon puts on product reviews :-)Here's the long and the short of it... this product ABSOLUTELY has a BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS design flaw that (as it comes from the factor) makes it unfit for its intended purpose (a sleeping platform). BUT... IT IS FIXABLE for someone with basic carpentry skills. HOWEVER... it is not being marketed as a 90% bed kit, it is being sold to consumers. Therefore, even though I actually like the bed (as it stands in my room, correctly modified), I must give it the lowest possible rating because it is in violation of US law of implied warranties. If you're up for a challenge, I recommend allocating a whole day for the assembly, and acquiring (1) a box of self-tapping metal screws (to fixate the floating slats), (2) two 2x12s each 26+3/8" long (or 1x12s if you are even more of a craftsman), (3) a dozen moderately long fasteners to engage the 2x12s. The extra structure should make a self-sturdy "box" in the middle. If you can see the attached image, you might be able to see how the structure would not hold (for a particular head-to-toe direction of force) without the added structure.I don't agree with the other reviews concerns the use of metal brackets to fix it's flaw, but I imagine that it's better than nothing.Best of luck!

*disclaimer* I live in an apartment, if you do too, you've found the right review!Lemme start by saying, my S.O. and I had our mattress on the floor for the first 3 weeks of moving in to our new place. This meant our brand new sheets, comforter, and a few throw pillows, often frequented the floor; they all picked up dust, dirt, cat hair, etc., the usual day to day messes of life. Stepped on, slipped on, you name it, it probably happened. If you're in this boat, you know, it can be a little frustrating.I told myself I'd build a box spring, buy a nice bedframe with a headboard, do this right... That was 2.5 weeks after telling myself it would be worth it, looking in local shops for pre built box springs and seeing them for no less than $100, and almost $200 after delivery + taxes.Well, since I'm here I guess you can imagine how that went. With work, trying to make the apartment feel like home, constantly cleaning and trying to maintain a social life, and without really your own front yard to do the whole building thing, the idea just became a faint whisper. It was around this time I also noticed the closets were a bit cluttered too, but I just told myself, "this was apartment living"One night, I decided to come to amazon to see if they sell box springs. To my absolute distrust and hesitation, I clicked through some reviews of this platform bedframe. It seemed pretty promising, but some reviews had a couple issues with broken parts and said it felt uncomfortable. I decided to roll the Amazon dice and purchase the platform bedframe.3 days rolled by and it came, shipped to my apartment and dropped off with a loud "thud" on the front door. The package was heavy and I guess the delivery guy was frustrated from my place being such a frequent stop for him with heavy packages. "Great..." I said, hoping no damage had occurred. The box was pretty beat up too.I opened it, assembled it (took about 5 minutes of finger tightening wing nuts btw) and plopped the mattress up on it. Thankfully it seemed to survive it's rough journey from the warehouse to my place, I noticed two things immediately:1.) This was the answer to making the bedroom feel more like a home2.) There is a ridiculous amount of storage underneath the bed that simply isn't allowed for in closets.I stuffed as many rarely-used items under the bed as I possibly could, which allowed me to straighten up the closets. I even made room to keep the box to the frame in there, just in case the S.O. didn't like it and we had to send it back. She came home and also instantly appreciated the look and feel of the bedroom. Needless to say, we did some investigation to see just how loud and sturdy the bedframe is. It's silent, and unmoving! ;)I threw the box out after 2 nights of sleeping on the bed, confident in my purchase and ready to guide other potential customers with a humongous review on why they should also take the plunge and try it. It seriously is the perfect bedframe for an apartment. You'll be glad you tried it!
Sturdy, easy to unpack and simple to put together. The 14" height provides room for hideaway storage and rambunctious pets. It, being a firm foundation also eliminates the need for a box spring. The only drawback was the way I stubbed my toes on the legs. I purchased black insulation pipe wraps(they resemble noodles). I cut them to fit each leg and no more swearing!
A retired Marine gunnery sergeant now at 285 lbs. 69 yrs young and as we say in the Corps :no longer lean but still mean, semper fi. I bought a town house 5 yrs back and as a golfer lower backs are common so I bought a platform bed so I would be lower to the floor when getting up which I felt would take stress off my back. Well last week the bed collapsed, which was made entirely with particle board and cheaply made and was cricking all the time. So I decided to get a metal bed frame that would hold my fat ass and not crick. I'm a guy that researches everything to the 9nth degree whether it be a new vehicle or a loaf of bread. I found the "Zinus 14 inch Smart Mattress" and read that it would hold some 1200pounds! So I, as usual read a ton of reviews. If their claim is correct then it should hold my fat ass up so I ordered one. So here's my closing. It actually arrived super quick, I live in San Diego, California. The majority of reviews I read were mainly about how log it took to assemble and some parts were not included. The parts are simply wing nuts and a couple bolts. I took the reviews as a challenge so I took a quick glance at the instructional diagram and assembled the whole unit in twenty minutes. I would suggest, which I did, is to get four (that's all you need) 1/4 inch lock washers to enhance the security of the wing nuts. So once assembled I said to myself once I put my mattress on it I said to myself" Gunny go for it" so I took a big diver upon it and it was like Heaven! it held my fat ass and my old wavy mattress felt great as well also. However, I AM purchasing a new mid-firm mattress to go with this gem of a Zenus Smart Base. Nothing more to say, the product is exceptional, worth every cent, don't sell it short, it is a must have, LOVE MINE!!

This is my second Zinus bed frame purchase. I purchased this bed after noticing all of the positive reviews. Shipping was quick (the website stated it may take three-five days to receive it) I received it in two. UPS had a difficult time lugging this huge box into my apartment building and I had a hell of a time getting it up 5 flights of stairs. On the other hand, the bed is nice, sturdy, and the wooden planks are held in place by the Velcro straps. The bed is quiet and it can hold some weight. My partner is 6'7 250 and I'm 5'6 159 and it holds up . Assembly was simple due to the instructions (read the whole page of instructions before you start). Not a lot of under bed space and my headboard arrived with a few stitches missing from the seam. Overall, pleased with the look, feel, and quality. I moved my bed into a small space so you can get an idea of the size. I have a full size XL mattress set (my bed sits high due to the box spring- you do not need a box spring with this bed frame). I appreciate you for taking time out to read my review. I hope you found it informative.
I just received my bed this morning and thought I'd leave a review because there aren't many yet.. Looking at a similar bed by Zinus, I know they had a lot of problems with the back of the bed frame being damaged, parts not matching up, and mattresses not fitting. I also took note that their product had been put on hold as they resolved the issue. So, this bed came perfect, was easy to put together (took about 20 minutes with brother) without extra or unmattching pieces, and my mattress fits perfectly on top without overhanging or the foot of the bed being elevated (as some had problems with the other one before).Long story short. This bed came perfect and a huge thumbs up to Zinus for listening to their customers and fixing their issues. Also, I attached a photo because I love seeing photos when I check reviews. For reference, my mattress is 10" by Ghost Bed and bed size is king.Note: This is day 1, I didn't sleep on it yet, will update if issues arise.
This bed is a great value for the money. It was fairly simple to put together.Assembly time was about 45 minutes. All pieces fit properly and securely. The needed Allen wrench was included. No other tools needed. The instructions were sufficient. Not great but good. The bed is quiet and sturdy. The mattress (Ghostbed) fits perfectly. It is not the fanciest bed in the world. Pictures are an accurate depiction of product. Adjust your expectations accordingly.Almost a year in this with zero issues.I'm 6' 3 at 240 lbs and it supports me very well. No creaking or any noise. It's also very stable. It stays put on my wood flooring just as it is.I did not use the adhesive strips on the slats. Mattress stays in place no problem.I would by it again too. A friend bought the queen size version a couple of months ago and is equally satisfied (I assembled that one too). Same experience as me so far.All parts are conveniently stored inside the headboard during shipping. Be sure to unzip it to look. This is actually a great feature for moving and storage.King size mattresses are 76 x 80. If you are short on one side, like the length, and the mattress overhangs on the width - rotate your mattress 90 degrees. Finally, it is very quiet during those private moments.Update at 33 months:Still good! Was starting to hear a little creaking here and there. Tightened all Allen bolts back up- 90% of it went away. The fabric on the headboard is holding up great.

User reviews

Overall, I'm happy I purchased this for my two-year-old's first "real" bed. It's stronger than a lot of other cheap furniture I've bought, and actually looks pretty nice. It's fairly low to the ground (great for a little one), and has no structural problems at all.My big issue is the drawers. I HATE the drawers. I didn't even take the product picture showing the drawers on the floor as reality, because the idea is so bizarre to me. They just sit on some wheels and roll completely separate from the bed. Since they're not on tracks, they just wobble wherever they want while you're pulling them out.
Broken after few days of usageBase can not supprt the bed overall. Not a reliable bed. Broke apart after few days of normal usage. They do not even accepting returns. Poor customer service.
It's not bad. Wasnt hard to put together but the drawers just roll on the floor into the empty parts of the bed. They are not attached in any way. I wish I knew this as my three yr old walks around with them. :/ they also are not smooth rolling on rug. Its good for the price but not awesome. Also two prices had a crack, but I believe it from shipping. Also once you build it be careful moving as the middle will easily break. It's heavy and only particle board.
