This is a wonderful coconut milk, one of only a couple out there that does NOT contain guar gum. A nutritionist once told me that guar gum (and all the gums, such as xanthan) is inflammatory, so I try to avoid it now. I go through a LOT of this since I learned an easy recipe for quick chia pudding (I can coconut milk, 1 tsp vanilla, honey or stevia sweetener, and 1/2 cup chia seeds. Mix up and refrigerate. Top with berries and nuts.) It's delicious, nutritious and easy.
I really believe this has guar gum or some other emulsifier in it. It never separated, even when refrigerated for a week. It was very smooth and had a texture exactly like that of coconut milk with guar gum.It even tasted like it had an additive...Our family is on the GAPS/SCD diet and we can't have gums or additives.I called the company - Edward and Sons - to enquire...Allison from customer service left me a voicemail saying the the company ''does a very good job of homogenizing the produc'' and that's why it doesn't separate, but that it should separate if refrigerated. (It didn't). Brian from Customer service sent an email saying the non-separation was "due to the organic nature of the product".Wow, talk about 2 'non-answers'. I replied to both and asked for a more in-depth explanation - neither ever replied. I called Allison three times and she never called me back. So, 2 different people from the same company gave me 2 different answers and neither got back to me....that is suspicious in itself. And - if this homogenization process is so effective - why do they even have the same product WITH guar gum?Nevertheless, after being assured by Allison that the product didn't have guar gum, I made a cream soup with it - had stomach pains and bloating both times after I ate it.If you follow GAPS or SCD, or are just trying to avoid additives, I would caution you not to use this product.I'm calling Amazon to see about returning it. Either way, I will not deal with Edward and Sons again! I'm going back to Natural Value organic coconut milk which is the real thing - no gums. It's just a lot more expensive, unfortunately.
I see in other reviews that the manufacturer claims nothing changed in the processing of this product. If that is truly the case, than I urge you (the manufacturer) to look into what changed in your supply chain. I have purchased over 20 cases of this product in the last year. I was thrilled to have a dependable, affordable supply of full-fat coconut milk that did not contain a thickener. It was an excellent product. Starting in the May/June 2018 time frame, the product changed in that it no longer contained fat solids. It became just a watery product. As far as I could see on the label, the fat content was supposedly the same. At first, I thought it might be due to the warmer weather. However, no fat solidified even when the milk was refrigerated. Then, I thought it might be due to seasonal variations in the actual coconuts...but now it has gone on long enough that that can't be the reason. Something changed. And I urge you to figure it out because I will not purchase this product again until I have assurance that whatever got broke is fixed. You used to have an excellent product. Please go back to that. Also of note, I notice some reviews indicate a fishy smell or other off smells at times. I have also experienced smells with certain, but not all, cans over this same period of time.

I love this coconut milk. After reading all the reviews I was concerned about mold growth as well as having to use up the milk within two to three days once opened. However these big tetrapack is more cost effective for us than the 8.5oz packs since we use 1 cup of coconut milk a day. Here are the things we are doing to improve the shelf life of this wonderful creamy coconut milk.1. Once we open the terapack we blend it up in our vitamix blender. You will see in the photo that this milk clumps up because of the high amount of fat. By blending it helps us to make the milk even, smooth and creamy.2. We then pour the milk in silicone moulds. I think each one is 3.5 ounces and off it goes into the freezer.3. Once frozen we remove them and put them in a ziplock bag and put them back in the freezer.4. We take them out as and when we need them. This method has saved us from worrying about mold growth, finishing it even if we don't need it etc.I usually need 2 cubes for my smoothies in the morning. It helps to take them out the night before, but there are days when I'm not too good with planning and I end up using those hard coconut cubes in my vitamix with my other ingredients. It does take longer to breakdown that ice.Caution: If you do not own a high power blender using these frozen coconut milk cubes may break your blender.
This used to be my favorite coconut milk. It used to be liquid with coconut cream. If I shook the carton, it would turn into an excellent creamer. It was awesome for cooking. When I put it in the fridge I could scoop out the cream and whip it.They clearly changed something because now it’s a solid block of who knows what. I poured it into another container hoping that if I mix it it might get a better texture, but it’s just terrible to look at. I can’t whip it, it’s awful in my coffee. I wish they would offer an explanation as to why they changed a product that was so great for so long.I may have to start making my own coconut milk. Do not buy this product.
I use coconut milk in place of dairy for baking, drinking and as a creamer in my coffee. This does not taste of coconut but instead, to me, tastes even creamier than dair milk. For a lighter product, I pour one carton into a 16 oz bottle and fill to the top with distilled water and shake, then refrigerate. None of the creaminess is compromised, and i'm cutting the caloric intake by more than half. For whipped cream, place unopened, unshaken carton in fridge, let cool overnight, remove, cut open, and spoon the solid product into a bowl. Beat until smooth while adding in powdered sugar (and a bit of pure vanilla extract), and you've got a kickass whipped cream that won't lose its shape or melt into a big globby mess. Divine!

This is a very high quality product. I've tried three brands from Amazon. I started with Wilderness Family Wildly Organic, and loved it. But then the price went up, so I tried Anthony's, which had a noticeably less fresh taste--a little sour. When I went back to buy Wilderness, the Organic was out of stock, so I took a chance on Terrasoul. So glad I did. Better price and the same rich, flavorful, creamy, delicious quality as Wilderness. Keep it up and I'll keep buying. But you might want to work on your packaging graphics and I bet you'd get more sales (make it look more appealing and make the "Organic" descriptor more prominent).
This is a very good coconut milk powder. Anyone who has tried to source coconut milk in any way other than making your own (a messy process) knows that there are some trade offs. Often ingredients are added to keep the powder from clumping and to add a sweetener. Some products even add casein, derived from milk, to help the powder dissolve better in coffee and to add protein. But for anyone attempting to avoid cow's milk, that's a bad thing. This Terrasoul product has just a little organic tapioca sweetener and a little organic acacia fiber. It tastes great and is a healthy product.
My 90 year old father has grown intolerant to milk and he loves hot chocolate. I made a hot chocolate mix with this coconut powered milk. The coconut milk with sugar and cocoa made a good hot chocolate good alternative. It has been gratefully received, and happily enjoyed.

Changed formula means I no longer purchase this product. I had previously tried all the brands of canned coconut milk I could get my hands on. This brand -used- to make the best whipped coconut cream. Now it doesn't firm up when refrigerated. I tried turning down the temperature, putting the cans as far back and low down that I could, but still didn't work. I am now on a hunt for a new brand, again. Which is bad for the manufacturer , because I had 18 cans (yes, 18!) delivered via subscribe & save every month. And I used to recommend this brand. Not anymore! Changing the recipe was a BAD idea!
While this purchase was made more than thirty days ago, we're still well within the use by date. However when I opened the first can it appeared a little gray. The next morning out of the refrigerator, it was definitely showing the pink of beginning mold. Thought it might be just that can so I tried a second. Same condition. I like to keep this type of non-perishables on hand but it doesn't work so well when it's bad cuz I'm past the Amazon return window. They might think about including food within the use by dates.
I used to buy this all the time. I subscribed to this, getting 18 cans per month. When I first started buying it, the quality was excellent. The top 2/3 of the can was the delicious solid coconut fat.I would get a few cans that were watery, followed by the good quality coconut milk. Then back to the low quality runny sloppy mess. Even refrigerating it will not separate into the fat and liquid.I do not know what has happened, but the last 3 cases have benn horrible quality. Plus, they spoil after only a few days in the fridge.I will not be purchasing this again until they go back to the original quality.

I've used this exact product for years. Always creamy and delicious once blended. My last case (I am now on can #3), is so watery it has NO taste. I tried to contact the company directly today, and their automatic reply said I was identified as a spammer! Really🤣 So now I'm here letting everyone know something has changed with this product, and it's NOT good!
I really liked this product and found the price very reasonable so I subscribed to it. The first time I subscribed to it they charged me 23 and something $$$. The next month I looked at my subscribe and save and saw that they planned to charge me $35.00. What the hell is that about?, It makes me wonder if they've been doing that with my other "subscribe and save" items. I'm going to have to start rechecking all my "subscribe and save" In case they decide to up the price without even letting me know it's gone up. This is extremely disappointing. I thought the price seemed high and thought 'that's odd, I don't remember it being so much.' That's $12.00 more than what I'd originally signed up for.
I have been buying this coconut milk for many months to make coconut milk kefir. I have purchased it because it had good flavor and is organic and in a BPA free can. However, the last 3-5 cases have been different. They are much thinner, more watery. They have not fermented well and do not get thick (Yogurt consistency) after fermenting and when put in the refrigerator like they used to. I am very disappointed and am looking for an alternative.
