A week ago while on the hunt for a new office chair I purchased a HON chair, I'm a brand junkie and figured their name was synonymous with quality. Wrong. I couldn't package that junk up to return fast enough. After heading back to browsing this chair popped up and I decided to give it a try. Wow. The quality of the hardware, seat and back are head and shoulders above HON. If you are on the hunt for a new chair, look no more! This one is a home run!
I wish I could have liked this chair. Frome the pictures it seems reasonably constructed, and on inspection most of it is. One glaring problem that was noticed though was the seat looks no different from a cheap task chair. Internally supported by wood, the seat at most has 2" of foam cushion on it if even that as it seems a bit thinner in the center. I still gave it the benefit of the doubt and used the chair for an evening. Bad idea as in just a few hours I could feel the hard plywood beneath the cushion and started to again experience the pain I've had from sitting on my worn out desk chair. So back it goes to amazon because it's completely unusable for me.
Not great for extended periods, but still decent. Don't understand why it has a tilt-forward function, but I leave it all the way back, which is just enough that it's ~level to the floor. Back support is good given my height, but I'd likely have bought a different chair given my past months experiences. Good enough for now.Update 3/4/2017:I am still using this chair, and it has served me well. It has held up better than any chair I've ever owned and still is mostly comfortable. I am pleasantly surprised with this and would have to say I'd recommend the chair at $150 or less. The biggest thing for me is that I always felt the need to look for another chair after so long with one because I'd be uncomfortable/unsatisfied. With this, I haven't even given any real consideration to finding another. Revised my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

I live in Texas where even the AC runs a long time to beat the summer heat. I opted for a mesh back chair so I could have better airflow behind my back when I turn on the fan. My leather chair used to make my back all sweaty, so this chair is very breathable. Setup was simple for me, took me 20 minutes from start to finish. I ordered the leather bottom and it's faux leather, but it's very comfortable. The mesh back seems durable and will last a while. The arm rests can swing up and out of the way if you so desire. The curved mesh back also makes me sit up straight. It supports my lower back and lumber; therefore, forcing me to practice good posture. I have uploaded pictures for your viewing, if you like please hit the 'Helpful' button! Those that order this chair and are missing instructions for setup, I have also uploaded the picture
I suffer from pelvic pain due to ligament tears and other issues. Sitting is a painful activity for me for the most part, but standing is also painful. In short, I spend most of my days in discomfort. This chair has been a real boon to me. The time I spend sitting in it is really the only time I am comfortable most days. The back of the chair provides sturdy support. The seat has just enough give to be comfortable without flattening over time (a real problem with plush seats). The swivel is easy and smooth. The arms are comfortable too.It is easy not to realize that a chair is not ergonomic when you are able-bodied and everything is working well. When you are in pain, however, that is when you feel every single design flaw. So, when I tell you that this is truly an ergonomic chair, you can believe that.I am deducting one star because the height of the arms is not adjustable and the arms are placed at a level that bumps into most desks. So, I have to lift the arms up entirely in order to be able to use my desk. Apart from this small issue, the chair is great.
Poor, cheap build quality. I'm a 200 lb guy and I sat in this chair for a couple hours each day for 3-4 months until it broke. The plate that connects the seat to the hydraulic has cracked all the way around. Before it broke, about 2 months into use the chair developed a lot of side to side tilt. It felt as if something were bending and sure enough it was the bottom plate creasing. A good office chair should put up with at least a few years of daily use. Not a couple months of evening gaming. The overall comfort was fine until it developed the side to side tilting and eventually broke.

I felt instant relief in my back and arm!!! My lower back and arms were killing me after sitting in another expensive office chair everyday, that didn't offer the support I needed. I ordered this chair and it was sooo comfy and supported me way better! I immediately ordered another one for my husband who works with me. I am so glad I decided to get this chair!
Fantastic chair! I have never owned any mesh office chair before and i wanted to try this out. It is awesome and i love everything about it. I get sweat easily so this chair is going to help me a lot when sitting on it for a long session. Installation took minutes and no confusion with the included guide. Smooth rolling on my wood floor. The ability to slide and turn the armrests was just phenomenal. Leaning back isn't an issue at all and it actually feels good when leaned all the way back. It makes me feel like laying on the cloud. Since this is my first time trying out mesh chair, it was a great experience and i think i might stick with mesh chair from now on when it comes to purchasing one.
I was very skeptical of this chair, as I was coming from one of those bonded leather high-back chair. I do have a chair similar to this at work, but not with this high of a back of this kind of focus on ergonomics.I have to say that i am VERY impressed.First off...the mesh. It is very breathable, so it doesn't make me sweat. It also holds me quite well.Second, the ergonomics. I do find myself being able to sit up a bit nicer, and I feel better because of it. Its an interesting chair design, which I haven't seen before, but it really does work.Lastly, putting it together. It did come in a bunch of parts, a bubble pack of screws, and a hex key. It was pretty overwhelming. The instructions don't have words on them, only pictures, and even with that it only took about ~15 minutes.I really do recommend this chair!!

This is a great value for essentially the same chair you pay $180 or $250 for at Big Box office stores. There is an issue with the design though. I believe the manufacturer is assembling the inner infrastructure of the chair improperly. After about 6 months the back failed on me. I removed the leather and foam to inspect the issue. There are brackets that are attached to the wood with threaded nuts. This is a sufficient manner to connect the pieces however they have installed them opposite. Meaning the nuts are on the back and/or the bottom and the L brackets are on the top or front. Therefore when you sit or lean back all of the weight holding ability is bearing on the NUTS rather than on the brackets. I disassembled mine. I installed the L bracket under the base and the nuts on the top side. Likewise on the back I put the nuts on the front and the L bracket on the back. This increased the stability and durability of the chair 10 fold. Photos I uploaded show the nut that pulled through the wood and my repair by moving the bracket below. Now after about 11 months the chair is still working great. i find the leather material to be more durable than the office store type chairs. If the manufacturers would switch the process or contact me for more information on the chair engineering I could make this a 5 star review and a great value for a $100 chair.
Fabric (fake leather) does not hold up with normal use. Mechanically, the chair is fine, but the fake leather is thinner than tissue paper and wears through very easily. As you can see, this happened to six chairs...
1. Bonded leather didn't last a year, the handles are peeling off as I sit in this chair.2. Squeaks like crazy, have to reapply some wd-40 every now and then.3. Foam cushion inserts are so-so.4. The button inserts and black plastic cover covering the screws on the side comes off periodically.TLDR; get something that doesn't have 'bonded leather' as the material, that and maybe something a bit more reputable.

Before getting to the chair itself, I'll mention that the packaging leaves much to be desired: The parts are jumbled in the box with so little padding that it's amazing that nothing appears to be broken. That said, most of the parts are solid and massive, so damaging them would be tough, but there are things like the control levers that are vulnerable. Just inspect everything carefully before assembling.Assembly was a breeze: having assembled a few similar chairs, I could probably have done it without instructions, but there are the usual illustrated instructions. The parts are in a blister-pack, so there's very little (if any) chance of their being absent or getting lost, and they include one extra each of the two parts (bolts and so on) required to assemble the chair. The small number of such parts is what makes the assembly so easy -- four bolts to attach the plate with the main controls to the bottom of the seat, and three stops to prevent the arms and back from being pulled too far.As I said, the main components of the chair are solid, massive, and heavy: they're not going to bend or break anytime soon. There's relatively little plastic in the construction, and that's almost all in areas where there's not going to be major stress. The places where the back and arms insert are thick metal, as are the inserts themselves.I'm sitting on the chair as I type this: it arrived today, and after perhaps 15 minutes assembling it, it took perhaps another 5-10 to master the controls and set it up so that it's more comfortable than any other desk chair in which I've ever parked my 225-lb carcass. I can tell that some fine-tuning will be necessary to make it perfect, but given the number of adjustments possible and the degree of adjustment, I have no doubt that I'll be sitting on cloud 9 soon. The control levers are like the other components: solid and massive. The only ones that don't snap firmly from the locked position to the unlocked position are the seat forward/backward lever on the left, but I didn't find that troublesome because sliding forward and back is so easy; and the seat height adjustment, because it would make adjusting the height much harder than having it spring back to the locked position. The other two controls -- seat angle and back angle -- snap solidly into unlocked position and stay there until you snap them back to locked ... if that's what you want. Seat angle you probably _do_ want to lock, but if you don't lock back angle it moves freely with an amount of tension controlled by the big knob under the chair in the front, so if you like to recline sometimes you can. I like the back to be stable, so I've got it locked, but if I wanted to stretch a bit I could easily flip that lever and lie back. The seat is cushioned but firm: I'm not sinking into it very far, but it's comfortable. The back mesh is springy enough to yield a bit when I lean back onto it, but not mushy. The only quibbles I have so far are:- it rocks from side to side a bit, but I'm actually wondering whether that's an advantage, in that it allows to move a bit side-to-side as well as back and forth, which may make sitting in it for long stretches a bit easier without having to get up and walk around. Any programmer, or writer, will understand that there are times when getting up may disrupt one's train of thought, but wiggling a bit won't. We'll see whether this is a valid point or just a rationalization because there's so little I don't like about the chair.- the back doesn't go down quite enough for me: I'd prefer that it hit me behind my hips, not the small of my back -- but this may be because I have spinal stenosis, and the support at that point feels better than the usual lumbar support position does. Again, may be a rationalization, but with the back at its lowest position it's _almost_ right.I had my wife, who's 5'2 (I'm 5'8) and weighs a LOT less than I do sit in it, and even without adjusting anything but the height she was asking me how much it cost: she'd just bought an el-cheapo Staples chair without any adjustments, and was jealous. Now that I think of it, given the difference between that chair and this one, the price difference is insignificant: the Staples chair lists for $100, but was on sale for $50 or $60, so even at the sale price it's only $80-$90 less -- for a chair that's WAY more adjustable and intrinsically way more comfortable.I'll report back later if things change, but so far I consider this a steal compared to chairs that aren't even as fully adjustable as this one. I find it hard to believe that a Miller chair is more comfortable than this is, much less 5 -6 times more comfortable.
I have had this chair now for about 8 months and at this point I am looking to replace it. From the beginning the lumbar support has been way too high an I am 6' tall. The back can be adjust about two or three inches but this does not put the curve of the chair where i need it. Because it would have cost me money to return the chair I decided to see if i needed to sit in it differently. In the mean time I have needed to replace the main part of the chair once already from HON under warranty due to excessive squeaking while sitting back and I am at the point where it need to be replaced again. The seat cushion has also flattened out and now it feels like i'm sitting on plastic. At this point i am going to contact HON to see if I can get any money back and not have this be a total loss.
The chairs were very easy to assemble. The plastic assembly pieces were a lot cheaper and not as sturdy as what I expected for the price, however. The chair arms, while they are width "adjustable" , the arms are wobbly and not adjustable enough for a slender built person. My arms are still "winged" far away from my body if I sit in the middle of the chair and the arm pad assembly doesn't tighten completely for me, leaving it unstable while trying to draw or use a drawing tablet. The back rest and seat are comfortable though, and those two pieces are very, very well built and very secure. The chairs leaning, though, doesn't feel all that stable. The chair makes a horrible "clunking" sound when I lean back. This occurs on both chairs I purchased and does not sound like a normal sound.
