This Jorgensen bar clamp set is ideal for flat panel, box, cabinet, frame and panel doors assemblies or any other project that requires squareness or evenly applied pressure. Large steel reinforced jaws assure the distribution of clamping pressure over large areas. The jaws stay parallel to...

These clamps function fine and feel hefty. But the description a bit misleadingly reads "steel reinforced jaws", while these clamps more precisely have plastic jaws with steel reinforcement. Basically everything orange in the pictures is plastic on these clamps. Ok. At $80/set of 2 clamps, I was expecting all metal. I'm not 100% confident the plastic won't grow brittle with time, especially given the recent change in Jorgensen brand ownership pointed out by other reviewers on this site. Maybe these will stand the test of time like older Jorgensens, or maybe not. Maybe I'll report back in 10 years or so with an updated review 😉 3 stars, but would be 5 if they were what I'd expected
Awesome clamps. It almost doesn't make any different whether you clamp at the tip....or deeper in the clamp...they stay parallel and do a great job keeping everything in one plane. If you are doing several glue ups..they stand up on the large top head of the clamp. 2 clamps on a large glue up...are surprisingly stable when standing up..so you don't have to give up bench space waiting for things to dry. If you are used to pipe clamps you will be very pleasantly surprised with these. They are $ but they are worth it in my opinion. Really nice clamps. Nice grips too. Some people get all excited about a wooden handle but I find these much easier to torque. Couldn't be happier.
Great parallel clamos. Used this for the first time to put together a walnut bench top and I've discovered I was missing out. They things made things so much easier compared to just f clamps

Abosolutely the best clamps, but Amazon's packaging stinks. Ordered two pair and all four clamps arrived damaged. These are too heavy to be shipped in the manufacturer's box alone. Boxes are decimated when they arrive and the plastic parts of the clamps are mostly broken. I ordered replacements and asked that they be shipped with additional outer boxing to protect the manufacturer's boxes. Amazon didn't listen and sent the second two pairs the same way as the first two. Fortunately, I had enough unbroken parts to make two pair of good clamps. Sent the broken parts back to Amazon. It is clear form reviews that others have had the same problems. I don't think Amazon pays any attention to packaging feedback and I am wasting my time. Too bad, Amazon. You have a good resource in us customers who take the time to give you feedback and you are squandering your opportunity to do things better.
Bessey parallel clamps are a chore to use. To be more specific they don't slide easily and you're left with the impression that the tool is actively fighting you. When you're in the middle of a glue up and time matters the hassle of getting these to slide into place is unforgivable. The woodworking market deserves better and I hope that someone comes along with a better parallel clamp. In the meantime I'd avoid these. If I wanted crap clamps I'd go to Harbor Freight - at least those are low cost.
I've owned many clamps in my day. These have performed amazingly well, especially compared to the pipe clamps I had previously owned. Not only does it deliver consistent and even clamping force but the engineering is solid with durability for years... on years...

Poor design and workmanship were evident right out of the box. I ordered two of these clamps to test against my Bessey parallel clamps. The Bora clamps are clearly meant to be a knock-off of the Bessey product. As I pulled the first clamp out of the box, it was obvious that it had either been assembled incorrectly or damaged somewhere along the way. The outer jaw was askew 8 to 10 degrees making it very non-parallel clamp. Closing it did not change anything. The other clamp was stuck and it took me almost a minute to get it to move along the shaft. I could imagine struggling with the clamps in a critical glue up, not being able to get them to open properly. The design is also flawed -- even if the clamps had worked, the cheap steel tension sleeve they use to engage with the bar would be very unreliable over the long haul and they would not hold up to heavy use in your typical wood shop.Thankfully, I'm a Prime member and was able to promptly return these items.
I was a bit apprehensive when I ordered this clamp because of its price. I build wood furniture (mostly tables) & I learned from the start that quality clamps are a must for me. Clamps that can withstand tons & tons of pressure, easy to manipulate, & lightweight if possible. This typically means EXPENSIVE clamps. But Cheap clamps are incredibly frustrating, & I can’t do it.Well, Bora has a new #1 fan. These clamps are both quality, & economical. They fit the bill perfectly, & work as well as the almost identical Bessy clamps I have, but for half the price.Another advantage to this clamp is it’s weight. I realize I’m a woman in a mans profession, 😉 but why do tools have to be so damn heavy?? Bessy clamps are so unbelievably heavy... but not my new Bora clamp. Pleasantly surprised when I opened the package & realized how light this thing is compared to my other clamps. In conclusion, you won’t be disappointed if you take the plunge, & order this clamp like I did. You’ll be thanking me. Haha Actually, I do wish I would’ve ordered a couple more. At $39, you’ll be hard pressed to find another clamp of this caliber.Stellar product!!!
I order one clamp a few months back, which I was able to use but didn't really pay much attention to the product quality when I received it. When I needed a few more for an upcoming project, I ordered 2 more. When they arrived I immediately noticed a few issues:1) unlike Bessy & Jet parallel clamps the fixed head is not perpendicular to the shaft, I've had little use with the first Bora clamp so I cannot be sure if that really matters but my first impression is that it probably does.2) the sliding head mechanism is not as smooth as other parallel clamps and only a little better that my F-style clamps3) Bora includes a replaceable clamp face on both heads (very nice feature) and another on the back of the fixed head, presumable for unclamping. One was missing on one of the two clamps4) On the other clamp, both of the sliding plastic bar locks looked as if they had been dragged along the street. They were worn and had a rough surfaces.I was hoping to have a more affordable alternative to my Jet & Bessy parallel clamps but I think for now I'll spend the money for the better quality.
