Used to drive T-posts and smaller metal posts into ground. Tapered handles for comfortable hand placement. Minimizes damage to tops of fence posts when compared to hammering

User reviews

I used to climb up a step ladder to pound poles in the ground with a sledge hammer. That was very awkward, especially if the ground was not level. Then I saw someone use one of these. It is s much easier. And safer, too. I am 68 years old. Wish I had learned about these when I was younger. Like another reviewer said, slide the sledge over the post before you stand it up. I would recommend the 12 pound sledge for most people, unless you lift heavy weights on a daily basis. This very rugged and should last a lifetime. I will be passing mine on to my grandchildren.
t drives when the smaller slide hammers reach refusalIt is heavy but the trick is slide it over the post lying on ground, then raise the combo vertical and continue. Don't stand post up and try to lift hammer over it unless you are superman.
Just finished using this to put in a barbed wire fence. Made driving the steel posts an easy task. Don't know how I would have done the job without this.

The Hi-Lift Jack PP-300 Post Popper is designed to remove metal T-posts, wooden fence posts, cement plugs or small stumps. The innovative design allows you to apply a tremendous amount of lifting force directly on the post, lifting it straight out of the ground. For T-posts use the built-in jaw....

User reviews

I used this Post Popper to remove 40+ t-posts that were part of an old garden fence. Removing the old fencing consumed the majority of my time and effort, this tool made short work of the t-posts once that was gone. I removed these 6-foot t-posts in early April when the ground was wet, they were driven 2 foot into clay soil and had been there for at least 5 years. If anything, the ground was probably a little too wet in some areas and the base of the jack (and 2x4 scrap I put under it) sank down into the wet clay sometimes when under a load. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to best use this tool, but it was pretty smooth sailing after the first couple of t-posts. I had the most success keeping the jack roughly parallel to the t-post (otherwise it tended to pull the post sideways instead of up), starting with the jack handle near level to the ground or just slightly raised (I couldn't get enough leverage to start the post moving if the handle was raised too high initially), and by lifting out the post with several small moves (as opposed to one continuous push). The working end of the jack handle is specifically designed to hook on to a t-post and will ratchet down the t-post when the jack handle is lifted and then lock into place when the handle is pushed downward, so you don't have to continually reposition or reattach it once the once the post starts lifting out of the ground. I did not use the included chain hook and actually removed it from the jack because the cotter pin that holds it in place kept coming out. This Hi-Lift post jack is very sturdy and well worth the money. I would expect this tool to last for a very long time... aside from a little mud, it still looks and performs like new after removing 40+ t-posts... would highly recommend!!!
Perfect tool for pulling out stakes. The only problem is that they really need to sell an extension handle to more than double the length of the lever arm. I couldn't pull out any 7' stakes (pounded 2' deep) with the stock handle. I did manage to pull out some 4' stakes with the stock handle. Better technique lowers the amount of brute force necessary. Place the base close to the stake, no more than an inch away. Otherwise most of your force is pulling the stake forward, not upward. Wiggle the stake vigorously back and forth in the direction of the "wing" to loosen the soil. You can also use a pickax, digger bar or, my favorite, a 1" inch auger bit to loosen up the soil. My 1' diameter, 6' pointy end digger bar just happens to fit in the 1 1/4" opening of the lever arm. I would remove the hook if you are not going to use it. It just gets in the way of the unit ratcheting down. The hook has a small opening so inspect it carefully before buying chain. This unit is quite rugged but I would still recommend gloves and heavy duty goggles when using it.
If you know me, you know I love a great tool. One of my absolute favorite buys has to be this Post Popper. I bought it and it made nice quick work for me when pulling up these cemented posts. At first I was very skeptical, but after pulling my first post up within 5 minutes of attaching the tool, I was completely sold! I used this to remove a useless chain-link fence that was installed by the original owner of the house. It was installed to keep the neighborhood kids off of her lawn (she hated people lol). Now, I won't endorse a bad tool and I don't get paid for advertisements (I wish)... this is genuine and works great. Looks like I'll be keeping it after all.

User reviews

OK, I have waited for sometime now before I wrote a review because I want it to be complete. First off, I am not a farmer but I am an avid food gardener who lives in northern PA ie deer country. My garden is 125'x60' in size and I grow most of our food for the entire year. Needless to say, deer, rabbits and raccoons are an issue. This was the year I decided to put up an electric fence to help prevent the invasions. Thus, I chose Lock Jaws because they looked easy to install and they are! They are simple as can be with the right T-Post, which are cheaper than wood posts and a whole lot less work!!!However, with all that ease there is a snag to which the boys at Lock Jaws need to address. It has to do with the starting and ending your fence Posts. A problem that I could not find addressed on their website. What happens is when it rains the water builds up on them and they arc to the metal T-Post, when the water is gone they stop. The issue is that this arcing is hard on your electric fence charger. I am still trying to master the situation with electrical tape being applied to the T-Post and the Polywire but have not gotten the issue solved. Just be be clear this is not a problem except on the beginning and ending T-Posts. Oh, you will get some occasional bird poop that allows arcing to the T-Post on the other Posts but that usually doesn't last too long. So, if Lock Jaws would kindly advise how to overcome this they would have a perfect product. Because I am telling you [having experience with the other types of electric fences] these things are GREAT! You cannot install an electric fence line any easier!!!Now if they would just advise us how to eliminate the arcing on the first and ending posts that would be fantastic !!!Yes, I recommend them. Yes, I will buy them again.
These things are Awesome!Easy to install and very versatile in position orientation!Ordered one pack to see if I liked them and I did, so I ordered another pack to complete the job.
Got these to install 14 gauge wire for pet containment fence above ground. Too old and grumpy to dig the wire down I was looking for something else to hang wire on existing barbed wire fencing. Like most things in life the T posts around the yard are facing two different directions which would mean buying two different styles of those snap on yellow or white wire holder sold in farm/ranch stores But these little guys solve the problem. They fit any metal T post in any position and still face the right side and the wire slips right in. Its a "thumbs up" for Lock Jaws. Since we were using this for dog fence it did not need to extend out and away from the fence. Works Great!

Perfect for what I needed them for, which was putting up a snow fence. They seem very sturdy, but we will see how they hold up to the winter and strong winds.

User reviews

A very light to carry, but very sturdy at the same time. It was very easy to install those. The ground was very dry and hard, but the stick when down under the weight of my body easily!
These are easy to install and very sturdier once in place. I used them to fence off my GSD dog run and it work for a long time, until my dog got bigger and actually figured how to get out around the post and the wall. So I finally took them off and installed a different a Steele fence panels to keep my dog secured. For a basic fence these are great like fencing off small a simple from your flower bed or garden. These did not contain a German Shepard dog
I was hoping they'd be really strong, because we have a very rocky base under our rocky soil. They are OK, but got pretty beat up as I hammered them into the ground. Using for a 2-foot dog fence for smaller and older dogs. After a month it has held up well.
